How did police arrest Saif Ali Khan’s attacker

The police arrested the attacker three days after the horrific incident, which left everyone in a state of shock. The Mumbai Police had launched a massive manhunt to nab the attacker. As per reports, the police searched through over 600 CCTV cameras to get even a tiny glimpse of the attacker. Meanwhile, more than 300 cops and 10 teams were deployed to track him down.

Saif’s attacker, Mohammed Shehzad, was identified from CCTV footage from the actor’s residential complex. The footage showed him running down the emergency exit stairs after escaping from the actor’s house.

The picture from the footage was then used to trace him around the city. Later he was spotted in the CCTV footage from DN Nagar, Andheri. In the footage, the attacker was seen getting off a two-wheeler. The police then traced the vehicle using its registration number.

The CCTV footage directed the cops to a rented house in Worli Koliwada, wherein they discovered that Shehzad lived there with three others. This way, the cops found his name and phone number from his roommate, which further helped them track him down.

The police also learned that Shehzad had purchased a paratha and a bottle of water from a local vendor near Century Mill, Worli, and paid him via UPI. The phone number of the accused and the additional details helped the cops trace him down to Thane.

When the cop reached there, he was found sleeping in the middle of dense bushes near a labour camp in the city. When he spotted the cops approaching him, Shehzad reportedly ran however, was outnumbered by the police and caught.

He was arrested and produced at a local Bandra court on Sunday, and he has now been remanded to five days in police custody.
