The country woke up to shocking news today as it became apparent that the one and only superstar Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his Bandra home during a robbery attempt.

An intruder reportedly broke into their house when the whole family including Saif’s wife and superstar Kareena Kapoor and their children were in the house. There was allegedly a scuffle that broke out during which Saif was stabbed by the intruder 6 times.

Two of those six cuts were reported to be deep and one was reported to be close to the spine. The incident reportedly occurred around 2:30 AM and Khan was taken to Lilavati Hospital for surgery soon after, while the intruder fled the scene.

Naturally, this attack has raised a lot of concerns about the security situation of societies and households in Mumbai. If celebrities who have access to the best security facilities and reside in high-profile neighborhoods are vulnerable to such attacks, one can only wonder what regular people must fear.

Updates about Saif Ali Khan’s attack

According to reports, Kareena Kapoor Khan was out with her friends on the night before the attack. She reportedly returned home hours before the attack. She had posted a story on Instagram where she mentioned that she was enjoying a girls’ night with her sister Karisma Kapoor and close friends Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor.

The intruder vs house help battle

After gaining entry into the house, according to sources, the intruder faced a female house help. She was stabbed in the course of an argument. Saif Ali Khan then allegedly acted in retaliation against his staff member’s assailant and ended up falling into a scuffle with the attacker. In the course of the scuffle, Saif suffered several internal and external stab injuries as the intruder left the house.

Were the children’s rooms targets?

One of the scariest details to emerge from the story is that unverified reports also claim that the intruder first went to the rooms of Khan’s children, Taimur and Jeh. Both children were luckily unharmed in the incident. The motive for targeting the rooms of the children is not clear, and authorities are investigating all possibilities.

Could it be an insider job? Seriously?

To make matters more complicated, video footage from CCTV cameras supposedly shows no indication of any unlawful entry or entry at the time of the event. This has left room for an assumption that possibly the attacker is a known figure to the family or an inside person who already had access to the house. The Mumbai police are believed to be investigating all these aspects, including this theory.

While these theories circulate, it is learnt that as soon as Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, Saif’s children from his first marriage learned that their father has been hospitalized, they hurried to be at Lilavati Hospital by his side.

Some reports suggest that Ibrahim reached there in the early hours of the morning. More recent updates confirm that Kareena is also by his side and most importantly, Saif has been declared as ‘stable.’ Perhpas that is the only positive bit of information to emerge so far!
