Miss World title

While still in college, she worked as a professional model and television commercial actress. After this time, she participated in the Miss India pageant and was crowned Miss World in 1994.

Entering Bollywood

Like many other beauty queens, Aishwarya received offers for films. The actress showcased her acting skills with the popular Tamil film, in 1997 and had her first Bollywood release the same year titled Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya. 

Her Bollywood debut was not a commercial success but caught the attention of many filmmakers. In 1998, Aishwarya again attracted attention with the big-budget Indian romance film, Jeans, directed by S Shankar.

Successful movies

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has consistently proven her acting chops in films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Taal and Devdas.

She has especially garnered appreciation for portraying the female lead character Rabindranath Tagore in the Bengali film, and a depressed woman in the film Raincoat. 

The actress has also had great success in commercial blockbusters like Dhoom 2, Jodhaa Akbar and Rajinikanth.

Married life

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s marriage is one of the most discussed topics in Bollywood. The actress married Abhishek Bachchan in 2007.

Aishwarya and Abhishek have worked together in various films like Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Kuch Naa Kaho, Umrao Jaan and Guru.

Abhishek is said to have fallen in love with Aishwarya while acting together. It is known that Abhishek Bachchan proposed to Aishwarya Rai in Toronto.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan spoke at length about her husband Abhishek Bachchan and their relationship in a recent interview. The couple has been married for 13 years and have a daughter named Aaradhya. 

In a rare occasion, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan revealed to the media that she and husband Abhishek Bachchan are still finding the fine line between a polite discussion and an argument. 

“We both have very strong personalities. I think there’s a safe line between arguments. So we argue a lot to find the best solution together,” she said.

When asked if there were any particular habits of her husband that led to arguments, Aishwarya said: “If we don’t count the 13 years of marriage, many years before that we knew each other as close friends. We talked a lot, with all the nuances of the stories.”

Motherhood

Abhishek and Aishwarya welcomed their first child on November 16, 2011. The child instantly became famous as Beti B. In March 2012, she was renamed Aaradhya Bachchan. 

When asked about how Aaradhya reacts to crowds, Aishwarya said, “Every time we come out of the airport, surrounded by crowds and cameras, I think she is born to accept such things, it is completely normal, the important thing is that she is always safe.”
