Deepika Padukone asked Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya Bachchan to intervene when she and Ranveer Singh couldn’t agree: ‘The experienced couple…’

As Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh couldn’t agree on answer to a question by Kapil Sharma, they brought in the big guns — ‘experienced couple’ Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan have been married for over 50 years.

Big B, who interacts with his fans and his audience on a regular basis, is often asked about the secret behind his successful marriage and he always manages to give an answer that makes the audience cheer for him.

A few years ago, at Star Screen Awards, Kapil Sharma asked him a similar question but Amitabh’s answer won Kapil’s heart.

Kapil, who was hosting the event, actually asked Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who has more nakhras (tantrums) – boys or girls?

Ranveer voted for girls and said, “Ladkiyan karti hain obviously (Girls, obviously).”

Deepika then said, “Main isse sehmat nahi hun. Bilkul bhi sehmat nahi hun (I don’t agree with this at all.) and added, “Ladko ke zyada hote hain (Boys have more tantrums.)”

Kapil then asked Deepika if men and women divided the days that they would get to speak, much like the odd-even days in Delhi, “Kya hum mardo ko bolne ka mauka milega? (Will boys get a chance to speak?)” Deepika quickly turned it around on Kapil and told him to ask this to the “experienced couple” hinting towards Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.

Kapil then gathered himself and asked Amitabh, “Sir ghar mein zyada kinki chalti hai? (Who has the final word?)”

Bachchan couldn’t hold back his laughter and asked Kapil to come closer and he was visibly walking away out of fear.

As Kapil inched closer and sat near Bachchan, the actor said, “Mere ghar mein toh aapki chalti hai. (In my house, you have the final word.)”

Kapil was over the moon as he heard this and replied with a laugh, “How sweet of you sir. Mera payment badha dia aapne market mein itni baat bol ke. (You have helped me in increasing my payment.)”

Kapil Sharma has been hosting his sketch comedy show for over a decade now. He was recently seen on Netflix hosting The Great India Kapil Show with Sunil Grover, Krushna Sudesh, Kiku Sharda and others.

This season, he had guests like Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Kartik Aaryan, Rohit Sharma among others. The show will come back for a second season.
