Bollywood actor, Saif Ali Khan’s chilling encounter with an intruder at his Bandra home has left fans and the industry in a state of shock. The incident, which took place in the early hours of Thursday, January 16, 2025, saw the actor sustain multiple stab wounds while trying to protect his family and staff from an armed burglar. However, contrary to earlier reports, it has now been confirmed that Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital by his house help in an auto-rickshaw, not by his elder son, Ibrahim Ali Khan.

The terrifying intrusion that left Saif Ali Khan severely injured

According to several reports, the attack took place at around 2:15 am at Saif and Kareena’s residence on the 12th floor of the Satguru Sharan apartments in Bandra. The assailant reportedly entered the house through the room of Saif’s youngest son, Jeh. Awakened by the commotion, Saif intervened after finding the intruder in an altercation with the house help. The intruder inflicted six stab wounds on Saif, two of which were serious, including one dangerously close to his spine. The actor managed to fend off the attacker, who then escaped using the building’s staircase.

Not Ibrahim, but house help took the actor to the hospital via rickshaw

Initial reports suggested that Saif’s elder son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, took him to the hospital. However, it has since been clarified by Saif’s manager that the house help accompanied the injured actor to Lilavati Hospital in an auto-rickshaw. Neither Ibrahim nor Taimur were present at the time. Ibrahim resides in a separate building, while Taimur was reportedly asleep along with other family members during the incident.

Saif Ali Khan’s attacker reportedly hid in Jeh’s room

According to a report by Lokmat, the intruder was trying to enter Saif’s youngest son, Jehangir (Jeh’s) room when the actor confronted him. Times Now revealed that Saif and Kareena’s house help, who also sustained an injury in her hand while protecting the family, shared the details about the incident, stating that Saif had confronted the attacker after hearing a scream, following which he was stabbed six times.

Saif was admitted to Lilavati Hospital between 3:00 and 3:30 am, where doctors immediately operated to remove the knife and treat his injuries. Neurosurgeon, Dr Nitin Dange and cosmetic surgeon, Dr Leena Jain led the team of specialists who attended to him. Saif is now stable but remains in the ICU for observation. A hospital source revealed that Saif sustained six injuries: two minor, two intermediate, and two deep wounds. One of the deep injuries, located near his spine, required critical attention.

CCTV footage captured Saif Ali Khan’s attacker’s face

A while ago, Mumbai police released a photo of a man who was captured on CCTV cameras at 2:33 am. He was seen on the stairwell of the actor’s building, dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, an orange scarf around his neck, and carrying a backpack. The attacker had reportedly planned to burgle the apartment, used the stairs in the rear to climb up to the floors and used a fire escape to enter the couple’s home.
