The internet has called out Raveena Tandon for ‘sexualising’ her 19-year-old daughter Rasha Thadani to do an item song in her debut film. The users even slammed the actress’ PR team for her widespread promotion.

Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha Thadani is all set to make her big Bollywood debut with the upcoming film Azaad. The 19-year-old has been making headlines and has taken over the internet with her moves and acting skills over the past few days. Besides, her item song ‘Uyi Amma’ from the film has also been going viral. Amid all this, users on the internet have been complaining that her PR team has been all over the place and that they have had enough of the young girl on their social media feeds.Meanwhile, a Reddit thread has even slammed her mother and veteran actress for letting her daughter do an item number at such a young age.

Reddit slams Raveena Tandon

In a Reddit thread titled ‘Raveena should be ashamed of herself for letting her teenager daughter be sexualized like that in an item number’ a user lashed out at Raveena Tandon for choosing something like an item song for her teenage daughter.

The user wrote, “Watching that song which is all over social media is making me squirm. Rasha is just about five years older than Aaradhya. Both Raveena and her husband have been in the film industry for over three decades and still let their teenage daughter be sexualized like this in an item song. It’s absolutely disgusting. They have failed as parents. She still looks like a kid with that baby face and innocence.”

The Redditor further drew comparison to the debut of other star kids like Alia Bhatt and Ananya Panday and questioned, “Did they not have any better scripts where she could have done regular girl next door characters like Alia, Ananya or Shraddha did in their first few years, discovered herself as an actor and matured as a person and then done an item song if she later wished to?”

Finally, the user concluded by saying, “And then I’m seeing clips of Raveena saying she could never have done the song like Rasha has. Very very messed up.”

While some users came out in support of the post, others pointed out that Rasha, at 19, is an adult woman and has the right to pick and choose what she wants to do. Some even said that there was nothing wrong in doing an item song at a young age.

Internet says it has had enough of Rasha Thadani

Meanwhile, a lot of comments on the Reddit post noted that they have been seeing a lot of content about the upcoming actress on their social media feed and they are done with it.

One user wrote, “I have seen more posts of that girl in the last weeks than any other newcomer. So I guess they achieved what they were going for!” Another Redditor wrote, “Raveena knows what she’s doing. She’s trying to ensure Rasha has mass appeal. The movie wont do wonders at the BO , but at least it has established Rasha as a good dancer and gave her recognition among masses.”

Some users complained about the constant ‘spamming’ asking her PR team to stop. One user strongly opined, “Now I am almost certain that this so called “bashing and calling out” raveena and husband , this nepodi whatever is a pr tactic as well. Good or bad publicity will make her more famous. That’s what they are aiming for. . Rasha’s pr if you are reading this: ur aggressive pr has turned off many people including me. Now, I’ll most certainly boycott rasha’s movies. Thank you!” (sic)

Rasha Thadani is the daughter of Raveena Tandon and film distributor Anil Thadani. She makes her debut opposite Aaman Devgan in Azaad, which hits the screens on January 17, 2025.
