Comedian Maheep Singh has often gone viral for his typical ‘Mummy kaisi hai’ joke. He also got a lot of attention after appearing as a panelist on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent. While some understand his humour and laugh it off, others feel it’s not in good taste. During one of his shows, the comedian tried to make a joke while replying to a viewer’s remark. As soon as the video went viral, Maheep Singh got trolled and many said that it’s ‘cheap and vulgar’ and such jokes on someone’s mom should not be made.

In the video a person sitting in the audience said ‘Mummy kaisi hai?’ and replying to it, Maheep said ‘Yaar teri mummy na okay okay hai, mtlb aisi nahi hai jaisa suna tha. Par jaisi bhi hai na kal tak ghar ajayegi, theek hai?’

In the later seconds of the video Maheep is seen sipping some water and a person is heard saying ‘paani pilo mar jaoge’, to this Maheep went on to say, “Mar gaya to teri maa vidhva (widow) ho jaegi.”


The clip went viral on X with people saying that the joke was extreme and such jokes on somebody’s mom should not be made.

One wrote, “Worst is log has bhi rahe hai.” Another added, “To be honest, I found it pretty distasteful.. even the first time he did it.’

Others also said that people have normalised such jokes and such extremity should not be tolerated.
